21/05/2016 | 18:00 - 20:00 | Coded Cultures Central  | Free  | Facebook event
We are such stuff as dreams are made on,
and our little life Is rounded with a sleep.
(W. Shakespeare „The Tempest“ act IV, scene I)

On this evening the format CILC – Centre for Immersive Live Cinema – founded in cooperation with the Wiener Festwochen 2017, will introduce itself to the public. CILC is an applied artistic platform, testing and developing the live-streaming broadcasting of performing arts by the means of immersion and cinematic aesthetics. Using VR, current camera and 3D sound technologies, new spaces of reception shall be explored at the intersection of performing arts, cinema and the internet.

Through the technological possibilities of our times the mere depiction of reality turns into the creation of a new reality, perceived by all senses. The narrative determined by the medium, the curated view, is replaced by a curated reality. Observation becoming experience.

The Wiener Festwochen 2017 production »The Source« will be broadcasted live in 2017 locally in a black box as well as world-wide simultaneously. Live stream entails an opening of institutions. The recipient will be following the main character of the story written by author Bastian Wilplinger into a new structure of reality. The assumed reality, the habits of perception, view and listening will be profoundly replaced by a newly created compressed and curated real world.

Through the means of CILC, »The Source« condenses perception into an immersive and sensual experience of inter-reality right before the eyes of the spectator and is set to open up our access to being-in-the-world.

With: Max Gurresch, Kira Koplin, Denise Helene Sumi, Bastian Wilplinger und Tomas Zierhofer-Kin.
